Who is Midnight Sun Coffee Roasters?
We are a a Family owned and operated business located in downtown Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada. We roast on site with a cozy cafe inside, and in the summer, a gorgeous patio with mountain views outside.
We have been micro-roasting premium coffee in small batches, daily, for over 15 years.
Micah, our younger brother, is Midnight Sun Coffee Roaster’s head roaster. His attention to detail and his commitment to quality and freshness, combined with an extensive background in the culinary arts has helped us create some really fabulous blends and espressos.
No family is complete without someone taking care of the books and sister Casey does this with great ease. She is often seen juggling babies on her hip as she effortlessly juggles our books.
Sister Saskia, and her fabulous partner Eric, while not physically at the Midnight Sun, round out our Ontario connections by taking care of all the design and web-related elements, including launching our new and easier website…
We also employ our mother who helps with our packaging.
As well, Katya’s husband Steve makes the shop look great, fixes all the broken stuff, and always takes out the garbage and recycling. ( thanks Steve!)
So all and all , this is a little business operated by a very large family, and we enjoy every minute of it!
Katya McQueen is the owner/operator and can be found behind the espresso machine every day , pulling shots and weighing beans.
