mocca java

March 19, 2013

Mocca Java, has arrived.moccajava

Just to clear up a few misconceptions concerning the word Mocca. Many people get confused by the many different mocca’s in the coffee world. Mocca Java, has no chocolate in it! Mocca is the port city of Yemen, which grows some pretty stellar coffee and Java is an island in Indonesia.

The popular blend of coffees from these two regions, make up the blend Mocca Java. A Mocha, on the other hand, is a latte made with chocolate, and topped with whip cream. A Mokka pot, is really a German coffee pot. Named after the German housewife who tired of using rags to filter her coffee, designed the Mokka pot, similar to a stovetop espresso.

Other featured coffees:

Costa Honey is back! grown in the region of Tarrazu( 1650-1950 meters above sea level) this coffee style of fermentation originates from Africa. Costa Rica is one of the first South American nations to adopt this interesting style! the pulp of the cherry is left on the bean ,until it ferments and creates a mucous sac. ( yummm) this develops a sweet ” honey” like flavour.
flavour notes: clean, tangy, bright, citrus notes and very smooth
Kenya peaberry: just as floral as our Kenya AA, try the Cuban Peaberry, which is a touch sweeter than its AA counterpart. black current aroma , sweet, light, and bright!

coffee grind options

coffee roaster coffee grind type

How do you choose your grind?

When selecting a coffee product (either whole coffee beans, or ground) to order, you will be asked to choose a grind so that we can prepare the coffee to your preference.

Our grinds range from 1-wholebean (not ground) to 9-turkish grind (very fine).

The options in between are suitable for a variety of coffee-making equipment that you may be using, such as french press, cone filter, flat-bottom basket, etc.

If you are not sure which grind would be best, choose the 'other- specify at checkout' option and leave a short note in the checkout process.

Tell us what equipment you use to make your coffee and we will be happy to help.
